<Reading Novels> is a project by Moonji Publishing that started in 2018.
Each quarter, they select “Novels of the Season,” announce the results on their website, and then publish them in a single-volume book.

In the Spring 2024 edition, three short stories are featured: 「럭키 클로버」 [Lucky Clover], 「밤의 반만이라도」 [Even If It’s Just Half of the Night] and 「하와이 사과」 [Hawaiian Apple].

In the Summer 2024 edition, three short stories are featured: 「리틀 프라이드」 [Little Pride], 「그 개와 혁명」 [The Dog and the Revolution] and 「천사들(가제)」 [Angels (Working Title)].

In the Autumn 2024 edition, three short stories are featured: 「걷기의 활용」 [The Use of Walking], 「옮겨붙은 소망」 [Transplanted Hopes] and 「슬픈 마음 있는 사람」 [A Person with a Sad Heart].

In the Winter 2024 edition, three short stories are featured: 「운석」 [Meteorite], 「여름 손님입니까」 [Are You a Summer Guest?], and 「최애의 아이」 [The Child of My Favorite Idol].

Through this book, readers can discover the works of young Korean writers, and each story is followed by an interview with the author, offering a candid glimpse into their intentions and thoughts about their work, as well as their perspective as novelists.

Each story is relatively short, ranging from 30 to 60 pages, making this a great book for those looking for Korean short stories.
The book features some less commonly used vocabulary and literary expressions, so it is ideal for readers with an upper-intermediate level of Korean.
